The location of Peña Redonda is one of the most spectacular sites in the Natural Park. Nearby is the Paso de las Estacas, known for being one of the places where smuggling between the two countries was common, not very long ago, because one could easily cross from one riverbank to the other.
From what were the hermitage and the hermit's house, the first sections of the wall of the Castro de Sanamede begin to appear.
Before reaching Peña Redonda, the course of the Pontón river invites you to continue the path that connects the old flour mills, which have been restored.
