Located at the mouth of the Cabra River, La Franca is the coastal boundary between Llanes and Ribadedeva. It is a triangular beach with white sand, moderate waves, and a semi-urban environment that offers all services. At low tide, it connects with other coves such as El Oso, El Viveru, and Regorgueru.

The easy access favors its high occupancy, although it is not overcrowded. It has a long tourist tradition dating back to the 19th century, when it had a seaside resort.

In the center of the beach is the islet of El Castrón, a regular refuge for seagulls.
