The "Playa de Tapia" World Surfing Championship, known as Goanna Pro Tapia, is one of the most emblematic sporting events in Tapia de Casariego and a reference for surfing in the Cantabrian Sea. Every spring, national and international surfers gather at Anguileiro Beach, taking advantage of the quality of its waves and the unique atmosphere of the Tapia coast.

Over several days, the seaside town is bustling with activity: in addition to the competition, there are exhibitions, live music, and meetings with athletes, turning the beach and the promenade into a major meeting point for surf lovers and visitors.
