The Festival of the Day of the Peoples of Asturias is celebrated every year on the last Sunday of August in Navelgas, a town in the council of Tineo. It is declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest, and aims to promote fraternity and solidarity among the peoples of the Principality.
During the day, Navelgas welcomes numerous visitors, who participate in a festive atmosphere with parades of folk groups, brass bands, music bands, and a traditional outdoor wheat threshing, a symbol of historical cooperation among neighbors.
The festival includes the presentation of the Dove of Fraternity to a guest village each year, recognitions such as the "Golden Chosco" or the "Silver Blueberry", and a communal outdoor meal shared by all attendees.
