The August Fairs and Festivals are celebrated at the end of this month, in the middle of summer. Among the most interesting events is the opening night of fireworks where the most attractive people of Valverde de Leganés are crowned, in addition to witnessing the proclamation of our fairs and festivals. The municipality has a wide range of activities and performances to entertain the fair both day and night. These festivities open on the first day with the award ceremony, for all the events held to date, plus the awards of Los Bartolos, the aforementioned proclamation, and the selection of misses and misters. Immediately after, the fireworks take place, which officially open the fair. Each year, the daytime fair gains more followers with numerous activities for children and adults such as water activities, tournaments and contests, sports activities, concerts and dances, etc. It is also worth mentioning the numerous evening festivals and musical performances, theater and visits from great artists who perform at night in the Bullring set up for the occasion. To end the fairs and festivals, on the last day a long and noisy firecracker is burned, signaling the end of the festivities.
