Route length: 7km (approximately).

Difficulty: Medium-Low.

Type: Circular.
On this route, the hiker will return to the origin of times, when humans inhabited shelters provided by the rock shelters and survived only on hunting and fishing.
The hiker will start this route at the Explanada Park (Tourist Office), accessing the town center by climbing up the most typical slopes of the locality, Calles Belén and Baños with their access walkways to the houses, to reach the Plaza de España and enjoy the Mudejar art in the Parish Church Ntra. Sra. de los Milagros (Historical Artistic Monument). Behind the church, the route continues along Calle Jarilla passing by the Cancho de la Piedra Loba and climbing up Calle Sartén, which leads to the highest point of the town, the Canchos de los Toros with its spectacular Mirador del Corazón de Jesús, a place where historians document the first human settlement in the urban area of Alange.
After this spectacular viewpoint, the route passes through the more modern urban area of the town and then exits it through the path that begins to climb to the mountain range, overlooking its striking quartzite crests. The large inland sea of Alange will be present during almost the entire ascent until reaching a eucalyptus grove where the Cancho de los Enamorados is immersed. At the end of the eucalyptus grove, the route reaches the Puerto de Palomas, an important bird migration area as it is the lowest point of the Peñas Blancas mountain range, where the path bifurcates and becomes a trail, having to continue on the left. A very narrow path surrounded by dense shade vegetation with the rock formations always to the left.
The last stretch of the route has a steep slope from which the Abrigo de “Las Calderitas” is visible, where you can enjoy schematic cave paintings with over 5000 years of history.
The hiker will return to the starting point by following the same route back.
**Inform the visitor that this route has sections of difficult access.
