The route begins and ends in Castuera, to the southeast of the town. To reach the starting point of the route, we must head towards the road to Monterrubio de La Serena. The landscape we can find in this first part of our route is one of olive exploitation, where farmers take advantage of the slope of the mountain range in traditional terraces.
As we progress, on the left side of the road, we can see small houses with traditional Extremaduran architecture, and almost throughout the journey, we can observe various woody species such as common pines, almond trees, and olive trees among others. Other peculiar plants that we can observe are those typical of the semi-steppic landscape, such as broom, grasses, prickly pears, etc.
Upon reaching the EX-104 road, we cross it to begin the ascent to the Sierra de los Pinos, where we can enjoy one of the best panoramic views of the entire La Serena, as well as testimonies of the Spanish Civil War and various viewpoints.
