Start this route heading NE, along the dirt track that leads to the town of Valencia del Ventoso, which is twenty kilometers away. The landscape is varied, with vineyards, pasture areas, olive groves, and holm oak forests. Right at the beginning of the route, the remains of some old towers that were used to transport the mineral from the mines located to the northwest of the town to the railway station catch the eye. On the right-hand side, you can see the railway track, some railway buildings, and a well. On the left side of the road, you can admire the impressive “Pino de La Junta” (Pine of La Junta), named for being on the border of the estate of the same name. This pine is approximately 300 years old and stands at a height of about twenty-five meters. At some point, we will cross the railway track to walk parallel to it along a path almost overgrown with vegetation. Further ahead, we will come across the pillar of “San Miguel” (Saint Michael).
