The Altagracia Hermitage Path is composed of a circular itinerary and two extensions towards the Guadamez River. The trail passes through fields of olive groves, vineyards, and almond trees until reaching the Altagracia Hermitage, now in ruins. The extensions lead us to the Los Álamos Mill and the Las Ánimas Mill, on the right bank of the Guadamez River, which is one of the most environmentally interesting rivers in the province of Badajoz and is protected as a Site of Community Importance by the Natura 2000 Network. Therefore, hikers can enjoy the river ecosystem first-hand, as well as contemplate the steep slopes of mountains and scrubland, which in most cases have been cleared to form holm oak pastureland.
