Valuengo Dam is the starting point for this route, an ideal place for fishing Barbel, Carp, Black-bass, Pardilla, and Boga. The Valuengo Dam Route can also be called the 'Gafa' route, as its route consists of two circular circuits connected by a linear one.
This route can be done in many ways; following the dam, entering the pasture, etc. There are many alternatives to explore it, but in any case, we will always have in mind the great Valuengo Dam and the birds that find their refuge and natural habitat there: Common Bee-eater, Little Bittern, Common Snipe, Osprey, Northern Pintail, Mallard, and Teal, Common Sandpiper, Kentish Plover, White and Black Stork, Great Cormorant, Eurasian Coot, Squacco Heron and Cattle Egret, Imperial and Purple Heron, Gull, Crane, Grey Wagtail, Kingfisher, Water Rail, Red-crested Pochard, Common Pochard... among many others. In order to calmly observe the behavior and plumage of all these species, the route is equipped with a Fauna Observatory located on the banks of the reservoir in the area known as Playa de las Vacas.
This route allows us to discover typical farmhouses, such as Los Bolsiquillos, Santa María de Abajo, the Las Conejeras estate..., large pastures that host cattle and pigs..., and hunting resources for both big and small game, highlighting species such as Partridge, Hare, Rabbit, and Wild Boar.
