It runs almost entirely through an ecosystem of holm oak dehesas, with high environmental and scenic appeal. The Ortiga River, through whose valley a large part of the route runs, is designated as a Site of Community Importance (SCI) within the Natura 2000 Network.
The route combines the aforementioned values with other resources of the historical heritage of La Serena, highlighting the bridges of 'La Pared' and 'Ermita de la Antigua', through which the route passes, as well as others in their vicinity such as flour mills, the Hermitage of Ntra. Sra. de la Antigua, or the town of La Haba itself.
