The Camino de Sacabarros trail stands out for its natural beauty and great ecological interest. During the hike, a wide variety of birds were observed, especially waterfowl and birds of prey. The sections through dehesas, and especially the stretch along the Bodión River, are of great interest to any hiking enthusiast, allowing for a comfortable and relaxed walk through one of the best-preserved river environments in Extremadura.
As the route passes through a Vía Pecuaria, it gains added value. It's also worth highlighting the importance of the Interpretive Table dedicated to interpreting the surroundings. The trail starts in Valencia del Ventoso, first passing through agricultural crops and livestock areas. Gradually, it enters a dehesa environment of great importance, until reaching the course of the Bodión River, where visitors can enjoy a highly ecologically valuable space, a refuge for multiple protected species.
The return journey follows a Vía Pecuaria. We will pass near the train tracks without crossing them and then return to Valencia del Ventoso after enjoying a relaxed and complete itinerary.
