Our starting point for the route begins at the Comarcal Agraria Office, where we can leave the cars. To access the starting point, from the Ham Museum (Monesterio Tourist Office), we walk up the street next to it, then turn right and continue along the ring road for 1 km until we reach a small roundabout. Here we will turn left to take the road that leads to the Andalusian town of Cala. After passing the bridge over the EX-103 road - which leads by car to Calera de León - we leave the Sierra de la Cruz to our right, and before a small slope, we leave a kiosk and transformer to our right, as well as a pig feeder about 650m from our starting point. Before reaching the end of this road, we take the right path that crosses the stream. After the bridge, we come to a fork, but we will continue on the left path, starting a slightly steep ascent of about 650m, between stone walls and flanked by olive and fig trees. From this point, we will see before our eyes the majestic Tentudía mountain, which at 1104m is the highest peak in the province of Badajoz. After about 100m, we will take the right path and begin to descend. About 400m further, we must take another right turn to continue descending for about 900m until we reach the Bodión River, whose waters come down from Las Peladas. We will continue parallel to it for about 100m and can admire the riparian forest that forms a gallery - with poplars and alders - and then cross it. Once we have crossed it, we will continue along the path with a stream to our right, which we must cross a few meters ahead, and it will lead us to the gate of the El Moro Alto estate. We will start a steep ascent of about 400m over rough terrain, and when we reach the top, the path will become a narrow trail about 400m long, surrounded by bushes that in many sections become a gallery, until a pronounced descent, which leads us to the Coso stream, from this point it is one kilometer to reach the Collado de las Cruces, at the foot of the majestic Tentudía mountain range. At this point, we leave a path to the right and the livestock route "vereda de la Víbora" to the left, starting a gentle slope that will take us to a fork. We will take the left path and continue along it for 1.6km; then we will leave it to turn right onto the path we find to the right and continue walking about 600 meters until we reach a new fork to take the right path. After about 150 meters, we will continue to our right and after walking about 300 meters, we will take the left path. After covering 1.2 km, we will turn slightly to the right and after about 150 meters, we will turn right again to ascend for 350 meters until we reach the BAV-3002 road, a confluence of several hiking routes. We will cross this road and take a path with a steep slope that will take us to the end of our stage, where the majestic Tentudía Monastery (14th century) awaits us. Inside, its magnificent Mudejar cloister with a double arcade stands out, as well as the no less important tile altarpieces, highlighting the Main Altar, the work of the ceramist Niculoso Pisano and dated 1518. In addition, to the left of it is the tomb of the Maestre Mayor of the Order of Santiago, Pelay-Pérez Correa, who, leading the Christian troops, had defeated the Moors, according to legend, obtaining from the Virgin the stopping of the sun and the prolongation of the day. From the cross at the top, you can see the highest point in the province of Huelva, the Bonales peak, which is approximately 3 km from Tentudía.
