The 'Copa del Agua' Route has an approximate length of 8 kilometers. This route starts from a path near the 'Mercoguadiana' fertilizer and feed factory and even extends to the railway station road.
With an average duration of 1 hour and 45 minutes, this route gets its name from a turret commonly known in the area as 'copa.' This infrastructure is part of the irrigation system of the Zújar Canal, where water is stored and, thanks to the operation of motors, it is lifted to the top of the turret. Subsequently, the water flows down by gravity and is distributed through the different plots via a network of secondary channels. Once in the plots, the water is distributed through the use of hydrants.
Completing this route through paths and secondary tracks offers the walker the opportunity to appreciate the farmlands typical of the Mediterranean climate and the area of the Vegas Altas del Guadiana: traditional and intensive olive groves, fig trees, fruit trees, corn, tomatoes, etc. A unique and special landscape that helps to understand the place where we live.
