The route starts in the center of Alburquerque, next to the tourist office. It leaves the town descending towards the Guadarranque River, which flows into the Gévora River, both included in the Natura 2000 Network as a special conservation area (ZEC Río Gévora Alto). From here, it turns northwest, running between the land strip between these two rivers until it crosses the Gévora River at La Codosera. The route ascends passing by the Sanctuary of Chandavilla, a place of great pilgrimage tradition, and continues towards El Marco, a characteristic border hamlet of these frontier lands where you can see "the smallest international bridge in the world" that crosses the waters of the Abrilongo stream. It continues eastward to cross the waters of the Gévora River again at the Sanctuary of Ntra. Sra. de Carrión, where it joins the BTT 2 route to head back to Alburquerque.
