On this Rural Walk, we will enjoy touring the main points of interest in the town of Herrera del Duque. We will start next to the Bullring, the first point of interest to visit will be Calle Real, of great environmental value, followed by the Convent of the Conception. From there we will head towards the Chamorro mountain range, where we will visit the Castle of Herrera del Duque. The castle is perched on living rock adopting an octagonal shape to adapt to the morphology of the terrain. Very notable is its exterior masonry, consisting of a solid structure about 15 meters high and 3-4 meters thick. From the castle, we obtain grandiose views of Herrera del Duque and the region of La Siberia. The great richness of its fauna and the landscape make this rural walk even more attractive. From the castle, we return to Herrera where we can visit the Church of San Juan Bautista and the Plaza de España. We will continue through the Altozano, a very popular neighborhood, until we reach the Town Hall, then we take La Carrera street and head towards the Palace of Culture. For children, once the walk is finished, we recommend a visit to the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Park, where they can see semi-free animals such as: deer, fallow deer, roe deer, among others.
