The route starts at the interpretation center of the Alcarrache River. It leaves the town heading west next to the remains of the castle, through a landscape of gentle hills dominated by grasslands and crops. It turns north to cross the EX-107 road and coincide with the natural path towards the Molino de Porras pier, on the shores of the Alqueva reservoir through the Bienes Comunales, 4,300 hectares of land that have their origins in the early 20th century and grant all rights of use and enjoyment to the inhabitants of Villanueva del Fresno. Nowadays, it is also a reserved area for mycological use, mainly for the gurumelo (Amanita ponderosa). It reaches the pier accompanied by holm oaks and always within the ZEC Dehesas de Jerez special protection area, from where it begins the return to the town, joining again the natural path.
