The Royal Almond Tree (Prunus amygdaloides) was declared a Singular Tree due to its biometry, the beauty of its form, and its spectacular flowering. It has a trunk perimeter at 1.30 m height of 2.67 m, a total height of 12 m, and a crown diameter of 15.50 m. It features abundant flowering visible from several points. The royal almond tree is a tree that forms part of the unique identity of Valverde de Leganés, located on a private estate where its owner, Antonio Torres, welcomes each visitor with open doors. Any worthwhile route around the area includes a stop at this tree, which during the flowering season is a true marvel. This tree is absolutely whimsical, standing out greatly in a completely agricultural environment with olive groves and pigs. Its size reaches proportions that make it monumental for its species, with a quite natural form, as the crown has been allowed to grow freely after the initial training pruning and now features abundant pendulous branches on the outside, which during flowering create true cascades of flowers. There is no doubt that the flowering is the peak moment for the contemplation of this specimen. Then, for about 10 days, the tree appears completely covered in pinkish-white flowers. So many flowers that they completely cover the ground under the projection of its crown. The flowering date depends on the annual weather, usually ranging from early to mid-February, although its duration can be reduced by winds and rains.

At this point, enter the olive grove on the right and after 300 m you will find the almond tree. ----- Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ydzheDjvpCY986Bp6
