From the village to a key point on the route, which is the Cruce de los Carretones, we can make our approach through the Camino del Tiñoso, the Camino del Frontón, or the Camino del Ahijón. The latter two options overlap until one diverts towards Ahijón Alto and the other towards the upper entrance of Doña Elvira la Grande, and subsequently to the Cruce de los Carretones. We will leave the village via the Camino del Ahijón, then take the Camino del Frontón and reach Los Carretones, where we take the left path that ascends to the Sierra de la Mesa. The first section of the route from Los Carretones will be a dirt track but eventually turns into a paved track up to almost the entrance gate to the Casa de la Mesa. To the right of the gate, another gate appears through which we enter, seeking the ridge of La Mujea. Near the gate, there is a watering place and a cluster of bujardas indicating the direction towards the high point of La Mujea. La Mujea forms on the other side the natural fall towards the Guijo stream, which separates La Mujea from the lowlands of Ahijón Alto. Traveling along the ridge in a south direction, we will find two clusters of bujardas zahúrdas. From the last one, we change direction towards the East, descending transversally down the slope until we cut across the stream coming from the Casa de la Mesa, and after crossing it, we begin to ascend the western slope of the Sierra de la Mesa. On this slope, we will find another bujarda in a semi-abandoned state and further up we will come across the named Casa de la Quintina. Past the Casa de la Quintina, we ascend a few meters to go around the mountain on its southernmost slope until reaching the pass that separates the mountain from its last peak. The last peak of the mountain plunges into the Ardila over the area of Las Pilas, and from it, we contemplate various panoramas of the entire territory. Cerro Mocael, the Pedruégano Ardila Estuary, the Dike, the Torno, Doña Elvira la Grande... From the top of the peak, we return to the pass and head towards the beginning of the route next to the stone wall that leads us practically to the base of the rocky summit of La Mesa along its entire eastern slope. We reach the summit of the Sierra de la Mesa and after delighting in the spectacular views that can be seen from there, we begin our descent by the same path up to the Cruce de los Carretones, and from here we make our last stretch of the road on the Camino del Tiñoso and enter the village through the Barrio del Tiñoso, completing our circular route.
