It is said that all roads lead to Santiago, and within this network of paths across the entire peninsula, a few kilometers, specifically eight, run through our municipal territory. Our Valencian path is included in the so-called Southern Way, which starts in Huelva and goes to Zafra, where it is absorbed by the Via de la Plata route. The different Santiago routes are divided into stages for walking, and regarding the Southern Way, the sixth stage connects Cañaveral de León with Valencia del Ventoso, and in the seventh stage, one leaves Valencia del Ventoso and reaches Zafra. The Way enters Valencian territory by crossing the Ardila river through the Ford and the Stepping Stones of Llanos de Cuchilleros, to exit through a gate to what is today the road to Bodonal. It climbs up to the Valley and enters the Village through the San Lázaro Cross, and after traversing several streets, it heads to the Refuge located next to the Castle. From the Pilgrim's Refuge, we wander to leave the Village through the Cross of the Lord of the Fat Stone, and passing by the New Fountain of Santiago, we will ascend La Calabaza to move along the Sacabarros Road in search of the shore of the Bodión, after cutting through the Colada de la Senda. Already on the shore of the Bodión, the Way leaves Valencian lands, to cross to the other Medina shore, through the Stepping Stones.
