Reservoir that stores and channels water from the Ter River and is located within the Espai Natural de les Guilleries-Savassona. It is an excellent place for hiking, observing flora and fauna, and practicing water sports. Despite the original project to build the reservoir dating back to 1931, construction of the Pantà de Sau did not begin until 1942. It was completed in 1966, causing a significant alteration to the landscape. One of the most well-known views of the reservoir occurs when the water level drops and the bell tower of Sant Romà de Sau emerges. Over time, it has been observed that in addition to producing electricity and storing and channeling water from the Ter River, the reservoir is a prime tourist resource, as it receives thousands of visitors each year who come to enjoy the Espai Natural de les Guilleries-Savassona, as well as to swim or engage in water sports such as rowing, sailing, or water skiing.
