The MITA, located in the Palacio de los Milà i Aragó, is the only international puppet museum in Spain, founded in 1997 by the Bambalina Titelles group. Its collection includes over 400 puppets from all continents, featuring traditional puppets from Africa, Asia (such as the Javanese wayang, declared UNESCO Intangible Heritage), Europe, and America. Spread across three rooms, the museum displays pieces from the 19th century to modern cinema and television puppets, including characters from “La Bola de Cristal”, “Gomaespuma”, and the Tirisiti from Alcoy.
The MITA also has a documentation center, educational workshop, and library, offering shows, workshops, guided tours, and annual family activities.
