Small isolated and scattered buildings, generally built with stone and mud, and sometimes dry stone that in the form of an ogive with a circular plan is obtained with the construction technique based on the placement of stone courses in cantilever. There are several 'cucos' in Barrax and its surroundings. Some served as overnight shelters for farmers and shepherds, like the one that still stands in the Cañablanca Estate, and the other two 'cucos' within the municipality were used to protect the mouths of the cisterns, from which the farmers drank water and from which the water needed for the first tractor that arrived in Barrax was drawn.
