Situated at 1655 m, Montgarri was until the seventies the highest inhabited village in the Aran Valley, located at the head of the Noguera Pallaresa with its source in the Pla de Beret, at 1840 m. It is an idyllic and extremely solitary place, located very close to the sanctuary of Montgarri, where the pilgrimage of Our Lady of Montgarri is celebrated every 2nd of July.
