Alidis-Viña Mambrilla

Viña Mambrilla is a family winery that was founded in 1999 under the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin, in the municipality of Mambrilla de Castrejón (Burgos).

Although the winery was founded that year, the Arranz family was already familiar with the practices of good wine making thanks to D. Primitivo Arranz, a man who not only took care of his vines and made his wines, but also passed on the knowledge of good wine making to his children and grandchildren.

Viña Mambrilla has 60 hectares of its own vineyards located in the shelter of the weather, they are cared for with care and dedication from the youngest to the oldest, which are between sixty and eighty years old. The bodega makes seven types of wine, from young to gran reserva under the name of Alidis, with the two signature wines Alidis Expresión and Alidis V.S. standing out.

The wines are aged in different types of barrels of Central European and French oak for Alidis six months, French and American for Alidis Crianza, and French oak barrels for Alidis Reserva and Gran Reserva.

With special care, we make the signature wines, Alidis Expresión and Alidis V.S., since their production process is different from the rest, not only because of the grapes coming from long-lived vineyards, but also because of the production process, since the malo-lactic fermentation is carried out in French oak barrels where the wine sleeps for 24 months.

From the first vintage to the present day, our wines have received numerous awards, a reflection of hard work and dedication. Of particular note are the 94 Parker points awarded to the Gran Reserva 2004, and the 90 Parker points awarded to the Alidis Expresión 2009, a wine that won the Grand Gold Medal at Iberwine 2012. However, the Alidis Reserva 2006 obtained the Iberwine Excellence at the 11th International Wine Competition - Iberwine in 2010. The most recent awards won by Viña Mambrilla were for the wines Alidis Reserva 2011, which was awarded a silver medal, and Alidis Gran Reserva 2010, which was awarded a gold medal, both at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2016. The Wine Spectator magazine's assessment of our Alidis VS is worth noting, awarding it 95 points and placing it among the 6 best wines from Spain.
