Type of route: Linear
Length: 8.7km
Elevation: 860 – 1039m
Difficulty: Medium-easy. The path is perfectly marked. The route can be done at any time of the year.
Cartography: 1/50000, sheet 557 of the I.G.N. San Martín de Valdeiglesias.
You can access from the road of Fresnedillas (M-521, km 25.9) or from the road of Colmenar del Arroyo (M-531, km 5.4).
Choosing the first option starts from the dehesa of Fuente Anguila with spectacular ash and holm oak groves that mark the beginning, traditionally exploited for livestock. In the rainy season, the seasonal wetlands are a refuge for amphibians and migratory birds, offering a spectacle to the walker.
The landscape turns into low mountain scrubland, with brooms and gorse bushes, and magnificent specimens of junipers and holm oaks. Dotted with numerous granite outcrops or berroqueños boulders along the way, offering the opposite face of the profile drawn by La Almenara and El Almojón, with birds of prey in full flight. It ends at the crossroads with the M-512, at the Las Umbrías estate that breeds pheasants.
This trail offers an alternative to continue the path of Navahonda.
