The construction of the first Town Hall of Arona dates back to around 1850, about half a century after its proclamation as an independent municipality, and was the result of the effort and funding of its own residents.
Those first town hall buildings were located very close to the current one, whose construction dates back just over three decades, being inaugurated in 1979. The new exterior design fits into the models used by the so-called 'neo-Canarian style.' The decoration of the council chamber stands out for a work executed by the artist from Arona, María Victoria Tavío, which offers a panoramic view of Arona in mural format, as well as a canvas donated by the author, reproducing the millenary almácigo of Arona, which was later turned into one of the elements of the municipal coat of arms.
