Space and site protected by particular condition according to the regulations of the PEPCH. With 6,000 years of uninterrupted occupation and 62,000 m2 of surface area, it is the most important site in our community in the historical context for mainly two reasons: its antiquity and its current state. It is the oldest settlement in Andalusia and Western Europe, in addition to holding evidence that the occupation has been continuous over time, that is, without abandonments throughout the entire period. To this is added its good state of preservation; just by looking at it, the different strata from different periods can be perfectly observed. In the archaeological excavations that took place in the years 2003, 2006, and 2007, remains of necropolis from the Bronze Age and even the Copper Age were found.
